THE CHIPPIE

A new urban fairy tale comes to life in this enthralling short film from director Louis Norton. He combines cannibalism and class war throughout the engaging narrative, as a group of kids discuss – and eventually investigate – who could be behind their classmates going missing.

The story of an urban fairy tale combining cannabilism and class is anchored by two great performances: Jordan Nash as the younger brother of the missing boy, and David Schaal as the chip shop owner with a unique frying recipe. Jordan was proud to play the role of Junior as the character embodies the role of an urban London boy as London is his home town.

The Chippie was the Official Selection at The British Shorts 2020 and La Shorts International Film Festival 2020.

OLIVER: LAGOS TO LONDON

Charles Dickens’ novel Oliver Twist is a powerful indictment of child poverty and ex-ploitation, as relevant now as when it was written. A young orphan’s epic search for family and home lies at the heart of award-winning writer Ayeesha Menon’s radical updating of Dickens’ story to modern-day Nigeria and the refugee journey to Britain.

Directed by acclaimed theatre director Michael Buffong, this classic story is reimagined as a powerful and moving drama for today. Jordan Nash plays the lead role of Oli on a journey to find his best friend which leads him to Lagos where a chance meeting with streetwise Dodger and his gang sparks a series of events that none of them can outrun. Being of Nigerian descent this role meant a lot to Jordan to be able to portray a Nigerian boy and convey the accent in a believable way.
